LOS ANGELES, California – Green Globe announced re-certification of the Half Moon Club – a Rock Resort – in Jamaica.
For the past few years, this Caribbean Resort has been dedicated to protect and preserve the environment, incorporating the best possible sustainable practices.

A long-term sustainability management system is in effect at the Half Moon Club Resort, and a dedicated eco-team monitors the progress of green measures, shaping and realizing environmental goals set forth by the property.
Some of Half Moon’s sustainable practices include a towel reuse program, the use of horse manure from the equestrian center to condition soil in nursery and gardens, installation of low-energy light bulbs throughout the resort, and a comprehensive waste management program.
Guests are invited to learn about the history and eco-system of the area, and participate in community activities. The purchasing policy favors local suppliers, and the property’s organic herbal garden provides ingredients for delectable meals offered at the resort’s restaurants.
Half Moon’s eco-friendly operations go hand-in-hand with its community outreach programs, supported by management and staff alike.
The Pack for a Purpose program gives travelers the opportunity to contribute to the needs of less fortunate children in the countries they visit, and Half Moon is partnering with the neighboring all-age town school.
In April 2011, Half Moon initiated the Guest Dollar Donation Program, where guests visiting the property were invited to donate $1 per room, per night to implement a mooring buoy system deployment at the Montego Bay Marine Park Trust.
The trust, which has been operating for over 20 years, is responsible for implementing measures to protect and restore a healthy eco-system in the resort town of Montego Bay.
