Joseph asks…
iphone 4 and ios 5? unlocked and/vs. locked iphone? GSM carriers (t-mobile, at&t)?
even if you cannot answer all of these that is okay.
i recently bought and iphone 4 and it is very frustrating to unlock it. i am running ios 5 BETA 6 and i want to know if i can unlock it?
unlocked vs. locked phones.
i do not know much but give me as much so this question might be dumb.
2. do they use different antennas and or reader slots (for the sim cards) so you cannot use certain sims?
as for the GSM carriers:
when it comes to unlocked and locked iphones i know you have to change the base band to unlock it. so say you have a different AT&T or T-Mobile phone. like a samsung or something like that. can you unlock those phones to use different carrier sims?
another thing. when the iphone 5 comes out. (if it comes to t-mobile) and the at&t and t-mobile iphone GSM base bands (modern firmware… settings>general>about, scroll down) are the same when i update to the ACTUAL ios 5 update(on the iphone 4). will i be able to use my t-mobile sim card in the AT&T phone?
if you do not understand please reply. I REALLY NEED HELP ON THIS INFO I AM VERY CONFUSED?!?!?
Pete answers:
Ok so now, as of today, we now know that the iphone 5 will be unlocked because apple wants this phone to be a GLOBAL Phone. We don’t know yet if the 5 is gonna be unlocked out the box or if the various phone companies will do it themselves. Either way, LOL, hackers will be able to unlock it for free, so believe me when i say i will be getting an iphone 5 either way. The IOS, with this news won’t make a difference because we won’t need a program anymore to run the unlock.

Lisa asks…
How do i gsm unlock My iphone withought jailbreaking.?
The reason i would like to do this is so that i can unlock my phone and still run the latest apple updates.
Thanks in advance
Pete answers:
